I wanted those old
disagreements to die with
the year — they didn’t.
This haiku is personal. Today, on the first day of the year, I found myself struggling to hold back bitter words over arguments that Hubby and I have been having for months — his video gaming and where we should concentrate our house hunting efforts. Argh!
Yet as I sat down to type up this haiku, it struck me that these words are equally fitting in regards to the “fiscal cliff” debacle — which is almost as annoying as my reoccurring arguments with Hubby.
One bad habit I am vowing to break with from this past year, however, is my lackadaisical approach to this very blog, which overtook me last spring when I became a mom.
Seeing as how Haiku By Two began as a New Year’s Resolution on January 1, 2009, it seemed fitting that if I wanted to renew my haiku’ing muscle, then I should start doing so on the first day of the year. And so, here goes.
May the habit of haiku overtake me once again!
